This case study shows how the American University in Cairo (AUC) started to update its annual planning and budgeting processes to overcome many challenges after moving to the new campus at New Cairo. This case study explains the process of American University in Cairo’s shift to a centralized and synchronized planning and budgeting cycle. It analyzes the disadvantages of centralization versus the benefits of standardized budget review and planning.
